Renters Supports the 12th Edition of the “W Ramach Sopotu” Photography Festival

Renters has joined the partners of the 12th edition of the “W Ramach Sopotu” Photography Festival, one of Poland’s most compelling photography events with a truly international reach. This year’s edition, themed “Border,” continues its tradition of artistic residencies, where artists visit Sopot to create original projects specifically for the festival.

During their residency, the artists will realize their unique concepts for a photographic series, which will be featured in the main exhibition in September 2026. As part of this collaboration, Renters will provide accommodations in its apartments for this year’s residents from Poland and France.

The residents of the 12th edition of the festival are:

  • Marta Bogdańska – A visual artist and photographer working at the intersection of photography, film, and archival research. Her projects analyze the relationships between humans, animals, and the environment, revealing hidden mechanisms of power, ideology, and violence embedded in the narratives we construct about nature and other species.
  • Anna Kędziora – A visual artist primarily working with photography. In her projects, she treats the landscape as a dynamic network of relationships between humans, non-human beings, and the physical matter of a place, exploring the material traces of these connections within historical, ecological, and institutional contexts.
  • Nyo Jinyong Lian – A French visual artist and photographer of Chinese descent specializing in staged photography. Through performative imagery, she builds surreal, metaphorical narratives that examine the tensions between the individual, social relationships, and power structures, often using humor to reveal the hidden absurdities of contemporary life.

The results of their work will be displayed at the festival’s main exhibition at the State Art Gallery (Państwowa Galeria Sztuki) in Sopot from September 3–20, 2026.
