Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of bookings of our flats by Ukrainian citizens. Today it is about 75% of all bookings in large cities such as Warsaw or Krakow. Refugees are looking for temporary accommodation with a view to long-term rentals. Most stays are bookings for two or three weeks, the longest ones are for a month. We all hope that the war will end soon.

According to Airbnb, the third quarter of 2021 was the best in the company's history, and their revenues grew year-on-year by as much as 36 percent. The length of stay in apartments is steadily increasing. Prices have already surpassed those before the pandemic.

Competition on the residential rental market is getting tougher. The demands of tenants are increasing. Many attractively priced apartments are standing empty due to poor standards and inadequate management. A low rate is definitely not enough.
Short-term rental operator Renters.co.uk is starting to test certified air purification devices in its properties. They are to filter and disinfect the air and make luxury apartments free of viruses, bacteria and the Covid-19 virus.
The holiday season promises to be insanely busy, as many months in isolation and seclusion have generated a huge demand in people to travel. Flat occupancy rates are again at a level that satisfies us and our owners, up to 80 per cent. - explains Kamil Krzyżanowski, founder of Renters.pl, in a conversation with us.
'We run a home-based business,' says Sebastian Hejnowski, one of the co-founders of a company that manages apartments and houses for rent. In pandemic 2020, it recorded more than 40% year-on-year growth and posted income of just under PLN 30m.
The entry of large hotel chains into apartment rental is nothing new in the world. In Poland, some hoteliers still insist that apartments are not suitable for tourists. Meanwhile, Marriott is opening its Homes & Villas platform in Poland and has invited Renters.pl as a partner in a joint project.
